PILOT'S COMPANION COURSE
This course was created in response to several requests from pilots and their regular passengers to give the passenger some basic flying skills so they could take control of the aeroplane in the event the pilot was no longer able to do so.
Those attending the course are usually the wife or husband of the pilot, but is available to anyone who flies regularly with a pilot. The companion will be taught basic flying skills, and how to operate the radio, The course includes, theory and a minimum of 5 hours flying but will be tailored to each person's requirements and needs.
The companion will practice basic manoeuvres on the aircraft and learn basic radio work thereby greatly increasing the safety and security onboard.
To attend the course you have to sign up as a student-pilot. You will fly always with an istructor.
Several people who have completed the companions course have gone on to obtain their PPL.
